April 07

Retail partnership launch new monthly

"Top of the shops" feature in Caerphilly Campaign...available from 12th April then monthly.

Jeff Cuthbert, the Assembly Member for Caerphilly said,  "I'm confident that the Caerphilly Independent Retailers will be a very positive force for change. Already they have helped to shape the new rate system for small business in Wales. A very useful meeting was held a little while ago with Sue Essex AM, the Local Government and Finance Minister. They explained to the Minister some of the practical difficulties of running small business in the face of very tough competition from national chains."

Jeff Cuthbert added, "Furthermore the CIR have brought together small business in Caerphilly town so that they can speak with one voice in terms of important developments such as the proposed regeneration of the top end of Caerphilly town. These independent retailers now have a real and strong identity."

The late Malcolm Evans-"Mr Caerphilly "

We have just experienced the best firework display ever.

Set over the imposing castle and with atmospheric music and lighting

it is a must see.

The late Malcolm Evans would of been very proud as this event was one of his .He will be greatly missed as he was the life and soul of the Town Council, the town and many other groups and organisation he supported.

Malcolm was not only our town Clerk , he was a friend of the retail partnership, "Mr Caerphilly" as he was effectionately known will be an impossible act to follow.

We wish his family strength and courage at this sad time, he will be missed by many
